another week or so of summer has passed, already?

Here it is July, already. Can you believe that? Difficult, I know. Last night my daughter and her friend let me know that "summer is half over." What?!? That can't be possible. Ok. Maybe it is possible. I did put the 4th of July decorations away this week. They've been out since Memorial Day weekend. But,now put away. You know what that mean's though, "We're half-way to Christmas!!!" ok, now you know my inner most thoughts.

On to what's been a happenin'...

Went to see the movie "The Grown-Ups" Not a good movie, at all, for kids. In fact, not that great for adults either. i give it a don't even rent it, and you won't be seeing it on tv rating. Yet, we had a lovely time and went for ice cream afterwards, hence the fly catchin and fly smackin short movies.
Went and played glo-in-the dark mini golf with M & the kids. Quite a competative round. pictures will be posted. my favorite is the flash dance in front of the strobe light/lightening drawing.
We went to the Red, Hot & Blue festival. It was smaller than we expected, but had a nice time. my favorite part was lying in the grass listening to the cover band. they were good! called themselves Cold Shot, i think. maybe i made that name up?
Went and sat in the church parking lot this year and avoided the mall traffic to watch the big firework display. It was much cooler and more enjoyable sitting on the big open field of grass with the kids playing on the playground and throwing the football around before the big show. And we decided it was definately bigger this year.
M went to Wisconsin this week, land of cheese suppossedly. we will have to find out if he ate any cheese. it would be dissapointing if he didn't.
Big Kid started jr. lifeguarding camp this week and is having a great time. I don't know what all they do there. I only hear stories of them swimming to the bottom of the deep end and bringing up a 25 lb. brick.
One of his friends is in the camp with him. Hence he had a sleepover with his friend here and to make it "fair & balanced" so did Little Bit. I took them all out to eat at Alamo Joe's by myself last night. They are all at this wonderful age, where it went just fine. Enjoyable even!
And we went on July 5th to Johnson Space Center because M had the day off. What a fun day we had again!!!
