because of chelle

Well, it was pointed out that someone might be a BIG slacker in my house, so here I am back to the ole Blog. I haven't found myself a wealth of humorous insight lately. OK. So what's new?!?

I guess I've been all consumed with getting things in order lately. I feel as though I have done nothing, and yet have been working my little (OK big) buns off trying to do it all. Let's see what is new in my world...
  1. I took my first lesson in an airplane and my instructor even let me fly the plane. I haven't been back yet. (but i will be going back soon, very soon)
  2. I took another plane ride in my neighbor's piper. Total fun. Then we ate at this restaurant (Carmelita's in Conroe) that I have decided that i really love. yet I've started a "lifestyle change" aka DIET so I probably won't be going back soon.
  3. Today I started my "lifestyle change" aka Diet. So, I'll probably be a total witch for the whole two weeks that i stay on this "lifestyle change."
  4. I went through all of my Christmas and have decided to part with almost half of it. And yet my holiday closet is still full to the rim. And now my dining room is taken over with plastic tubs and plastic tubs of no longer wanted, yet having hard time parting with Christmas.
  5. In the spirit of cleaning out Christmas, I cleaned out all the outgrown clothes from my kids closets. They've grown a whole bunch since school started. Big Kid is definitely in a 7 now. So, I've done some online shopping.
  6. Due to the whole Christmas card/New Year's card fiasco this year, I have started on my Christmas cards for 2008. I plan on getting the Christmas cards finished before 2009 this year.
  7. I have gotten my ISBN number for my book Another Day, Another Story. If you've been reading this blog from it's beginning, then you've already read my book. If not, then you can purchase a copy here and read it. Hopefully, I'll have it where you can purchase it other places soon, too. and really i don't know why I'm doing this, other than I'd rather write and publish and sell a book than do laundry.
  8. Let's see...what else. Oh, been doing a bunch of that room mom stuff up at the school for Little Bit's class. You know, parties, bulletin boards, tomorrow a luncheon for the teachers...
  9. OH, and I guess the biggest change is I've been out running a mile to 3 miles a day. O.K. It's more like running about a block and then walking the rest of it. And more like once every 3 to 4 days I don the jogging outfit and shoes and then go out the door, but whatever...You never know it might start being every day and running.
  10. At nights i now exercise with the kids. we do fun exercises. some they made up. they love it and want to do it every night and that is the goal, but sometimes I'm just plain tired. So, the kids are ready to meet the goal and hopefully I'll get on board and reach the goal as well. And M is joining us in the exercise craze, too! i must say fun music helps with the whole process. Thank goodness for the Baja Men and "Who Let the Dogs Out!"
  11. AND I am joining the local art league tonight. And then going to a paint-in on Monday. But, I'm doing this on my terms. I know they are having a model there and we're supposed to paint something about the model, but I'm just going to do my mail art. And when they ask me, "Is that supposed to be the model?" I'm going to reply, "Yes, she gives off the aura of a turtle. Can't you see it?" I am not an artist, nor do i claim to be. But I love mail art. I was even invited to join two mail art groups that sought me out. The other day i went over to a friends house to paint and I painted this ant for a mail art call. it was sooo funny. i keep saying to people that i like to paint folk art. But let's face it...it's kindergarten art and i love it!!!
  12. Oh, and every Thursday I am now committed to a play date at the park after school for my kids with their friends. This is fun, because I get to visit with all the moms while they kids run around wild.

Well, i guess that's what I've been up to lately. I guess this is better than working the funnel cart at the carnivals and festivals, but if this gig is ever over look for me there.

Chelle, I will keep you posted more often.

until tomorrow...later-cb

new years resolutions 2008

This year I promise to do the following...
O.K. let me rephrase that, I promise to try to do the following...
O.K. rephrase again for clarity sake...I promise to sometimes try to do the following...
  1. I promise to try to be nice to more people.
  2. I promise to do this by not thinking about how they would look with big teeth like Mr. Ed the horse and how I'd like to see them saying whatever it is they are saying with those big Mr. Ed teeth.
  3. I promise to listen more to what people are saying to me.
  4. I promise to not make lists of what I need to be doing as soon as this conversation with you is over.
  5. I promise not to daydream about what it would be like to work with you and have to listen to you all day long.
  6. I promise not to daydream that I am your boss who likes to give you stupid assignments like count all the paperclips and then arrange them in a paperclip chain with the pattern Big, small, small, Big, small, small.
  7. I promise to finish cleaning all the laundry in the house at least once this year.
  8. I promise to run more.
  9. I promise to not count running to the kitchen to beat my kids to the last piece of chocolate cake as my run for the day.
  10. I promise to run in the local fun run in May.
  11. I promise to run the full 3.2 miles and not make my own detour to Starbucks and wait it out and look like I finish mid-group.
  12. I promise to promote my blog book.
  13. I promise not to just consider promoting my book as just telling my folks about it.
  14. I promise to go flying.
  15. I'm serious...I promise to go flying. I got flying lessons for Christmas! Yipiee!!!
  16. I promise to read more.
  17. I promise to read more than just the comics in the paper and the magazine fronts at the grocery store, but to read actual books. More than one's by Dr. Suess. Although, I do admit I love his writtings on life.
  18. I promise to spend less time on the computer and more time with my family.
  19. I promise to be more clever with my fun activities.
  20. I promise to not worry about these resolutions, but to seize each day. Carpe Diem!
