my morning

My morning:
I wake up at 6.30 and cannot go back to sleep.
I step in the accident of my dog.
I put my sweater on backwards.
I went to the grocery store at 7:30 on this Saturday morning.
Little Bit helped cook the French toast for breakfast.
She burnt her hand and decided she didn't like cooking.
I cut up all the fruit and cheese and did everything I could in advance for the superbowl party tomorrow. (You're invited. Just show up.)
Well, time to clean up the kitchen. later,tater-cb

Good Day

What a Good Day!

A new president! We're getting a new live oak tree and someone else is putting it in! I don't feel sick for the first time in over a week! My kids are happy to go to school. M is happy to be off to Florida for the night. Everyone seems to be in a good mood and I like it! I hope you're having a good day, too!

It's been a hard week with what seems to have been something like food posioning or the flu without fever. Yet, I do have these cute pics to share.

It's been busy...new year's eve, camping just west of Austin, Sunday brunch at the House of Blues...

I am the favorite so she'll come here first......-aunt chelle
Dear Chris, Mommy M, and Chelle- Well, I got sidetracked and didn't finish my major clean. In fact, Christmas is still up in the top half of the house and I'm praying for the cleaning fairy to come and visit me. He hasn't shown up yet. later-cb

Dear Chris and Mommy M- Thanks!! I love that pic of Little Bit, too. I have to agree, she is as cute as they come, but I am a bit biased. :) later-cb

So Elvis goes joyriding in your vehicle. Hmmm Maybe he's riding around in your car while wearing one of the missing socks from my laundry. LOL That would explain some things though. hahah
Dear Mommy M- Well, actually you now know a little known fact about us. Elvis lives with us. He does all sorts of crazy things and gets blamed quite a bit for all of the unknown. later-cb

Ceerrrack!

Did you hear that? It was the cracking of the whip. I spent half the day yesterday entering the receipts from all the Christmas spending. Yikes. Then the other half of the day was cleaning the kids rooms. Bigger yikes, if that's possible. After hauling out 4 black trash bags of stuff, it still looks like I wasn't in there. Holy tamolie. So, it's back in I go. M talked with the purple heart people and their coming on Friday to take away my junk, so I'm on a deadline. Ceerrack! Back to work.

do you want to see pics of my kids?

Well, too late. You looked. :)

twilight zone at sunrise

So, there I was...

standing in the kitchen, when I reached out and pulled up the dark mini-blinds. I look out. It seemed strange, out of place. My husband's car window was down and the sunroof open. It was cool out yesterday and rainy. Did he ride home like this? He never opens the sunroof for fun. I always am the one that opens the sunroof. Did I sleepwalk and go out and open the sunroof at night? Wait. Big Kid told me yesterday that his friend's car was robbed and the friend's mom confirmed it. Yes. Their car was robbed while they were inside the house watching the robber. OH no! I've been robbed. Quick, where's the keys? (why I'm looking for the keys when all the windows are down i don't know.) "Where's the keys?" I asked M who was still in bed. "hmmp. pants...pock.." as he rolled back over shoveling his head under the pillow. Out into the cold morning air, I opened the door. No glass shattered. Everything's here, as I check the armrest-all-things-of-junk holder. Hmmm. All the windows are down and the sunroof open. I start the car and roll up the windows. Strange. I check my bus. Doors unlocked, but all is here. I lock the doors and close them.

Once everyone gets up for breakfast, I tell M the story of his car. He seems not worried. "Oh, that happens every so often. I don't know why. The car must pick up a similar frequency from somewhere." "Oh." I reply and think to myself Elvis must have visited again.

day one

A new year full of new accomplishments. Day one:

  • spent 2 hours going to local department store and purchased only one item, a new scale for weighing myself.
  • Got home. Realized the scale's battery didn't work.
  • Spent another 30 minutes going to purchase a new battery for said weight scale.
  • Weighed myself. Only gained 3 pounds over the holidays. Find that to be amazing. I think the scale is broken, because I ate like a boney hound that just wondered up from out of the woods these past 3 weeks.
  • Cut up some collard greens and put them on to boil. Put the chicken in the oven. Will start the black-eyed peas in a little while. Greens = good money. Black-eyed peas = good luck. Chicken= already cooked and ready at the grocery store and easy to warm up.
  • Laid down on the couch and watched Napoleon Dynamite. Too lazy to lift my hand to change channels on the remote.
  • M asked me if I wanted to go look at trees for the yard. I said sure. So he lit the fire in the fireplace and I watched the rest of the movie.

I can see that I'm really getting a lot done on this first day of the new year. I think it's back to the couch for me. :)
