new years resolutions 2008

This year I promise to do the following...
O.K. let me rephrase that, I promise to try to do the following...
O.K. rephrase again for clarity sake...I promise to sometimes try to do the following...
  1. I promise to try to be nice to more people.
  2. I promise to do this by not thinking about how they would look with big teeth like Mr. Ed the horse and how I'd like to see them saying whatever it is they are saying with those big Mr. Ed teeth.
  3. I promise to listen more to what people are saying to me.
  4. I promise to not make lists of what I need to be doing as soon as this conversation with you is over.
  5. I promise not to daydream about what it would be like to work with you and have to listen to you all day long.
  6. I promise not to daydream that I am your boss who likes to give you stupid assignments like count all the paperclips and then arrange them in a paperclip chain with the pattern Big, small, small, Big, small, small.
  7. I promise to finish cleaning all the laundry in the house at least once this year.
  8. I promise to run more.
  9. I promise to not count running to the kitchen to beat my kids to the last piece of chocolate cake as my run for the day.
  10. I promise to run in the local fun run in May.
  11. I promise to run the full 3.2 miles and not make my own detour to Starbucks and wait it out and look like I finish mid-group.
  12. I promise to promote my blog book.
  13. I promise not to just consider promoting my book as just telling my folks about it.
  14. I promise to go flying.
  15. I'm serious...I promise to go flying. I got flying lessons for Christmas! Yipiee!!!
  16. I promise to read more.
  17. I promise to read more than just the comics in the paper and the magazine fronts at the grocery store, but to read actual books. More than one's by Dr. Suess. Although, I do admit I love his writtings on life.
  18. I promise to spend less time on the computer and more time with my family.
  19. I promise to be more clever with my fun activities.
  20. I promise to not worry about these resolutions, but to seize each day. Carpe Diem!
