ohinky trip

We just got back from the ohinky trip. What? you might ask...ohinky...OH Ohio, IN Indiania, KY Kentucky. I just think ohinky sounds funny. Anyway we saw and did all sorts of stuff (in no particular order):

  • Land in Cleveland, OH.

  • Go to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

  • See parade happening two blocks down. Go see Puerto Rico Ward 4 Parade with mainly cool tricked out cars. Got ton of candy and toys.

  • Visited ice cream museum at a dairy in the middle of a corn field. got homemade icecream with the locals and saw museum that you paid on the honor system and turned on and off the lights yourself.

  • RV Hall of Fame muesum. Cool old campers and rvs.

  • Cedar Point. Home of 17, count them 17, roller coasters and snoopy characters. #1 coaster in the world, M rode it and bought the shirt to prove it. :)

  • Holiday World...huge water park and home of 3 wooden coasters: #1, #7 & #11 wooden coasters in the world. We also saw and visited with Santa, because he summers there in Santa Claus, IN. Stayed at Santa's lodge over night there. Cool. I love Christmas!!!

  • Amish Acres in Napannee, IN. COOL. See how the Amish used to live and get the details on their beliefs. Ate the threshers dinner, played the ring game, rode the tractor wagon tour, got a private house tour, pet the animals, shopped in all the shops (Christmas shop, meat/cheese shop, candy shop, The Cow Shed, greeting center and restaurant gift shop.) Swam in the pool.

  • Drove around town in Napannee, visited with the guy at the furniture shop who was Amish, played a the local park, we all tried out the BIG slide.

  • Saw the theater show Carrosel in the round barn there at Amish Acres. It was FANTASTIC!!! It's a regional musical theater, bringing in actors from both coasts.

  • Went to a arts festival in a town as we passed through. Ate snow cones and saw this guy who we had bought an etching piece from here at home at the Woodlands Arts Festival. He wondered how we found this little festival, and we told him how we had wondered upon it. Great architechture in this town too.

  • TV museum. Muesum in a small town in what looks to be a warehouse, full of tvs that are pre-war. This museum has probably 300 + tvs, each a different make and model. And most are the only one's known in existance. CRAZY COOL.

  • Bible Walk. OK...can I just get a FREKYDEAKY out. It's a wax museum with 300 wax figures that depeict the different stories from the bible. We were the last people there and they turned it all back on for us. Which was nice, but being in the long dark hallways painted black with minimal lighting, then pressing the button that made the light on the scene come on and the guy talking to creepy music that all had a heck and brimstone themes to it...YIKES...and then when Lot's wife of salt turns around and you see her eyes sticking out of this pillar of salt...i thought i would pee on myselft. My kids found it to be way creepy. But, I have to say I would DEFINATELY stop again to see this. It was so bizzare that it was cool.

  • And lastly, but most importantly we went and saw my sister and her hubby and their new baby!!!! He's a totally cute little baby and probably one of the best babies that I've ever been around. We went to lunch at Lynn's Paradise Cafe and I highly recommend it to anyone in Louisville. Great ambiance and good food. Then we went onto the zoo and Baby Nephew slept the whole time and when he was awake he was totally happy. Afterwards we ate supper at their house, everyone got to hold the baby yipiee!!! and then headed to the hotel. The next morning we woke and met them at Mimi's Cafe. A fantastic spot to eat breakfast. I loved this place!!! And baby Nephew slept again and we all loved seeing him and how cute he was!!!

OK it was a great trip. Thanks for lettting me go on and on and on... Here's a pic for your day. later-cb

Cedar Point...a view from the ride that takes you out over the whole park. See the curly looking things in the background on either side of the ferris wheel...That's a roller coaster. Yep. A roller coaster.
