Sunday before the big day

Well, today is the Sunday before the big day. The first day of school!!! is tomorrow. Can you believe that the summer has already run by at lightening speed? I don't even feel as though summer has even started.

Let's do a highlight recap in bullet form of all we've been up to, shall we?
  • Camp Good News, 1st sleep away camp for Big Kid & Little Bit.
  • VBS, our very last vacation bible school ever. Alas, my children have grown.
  • Planet 56 day camp for Big Kid to kick off the summer right with church, paint balls and splashtown.
  • Soccer Camp for Big Kid with friends.
  • TAKS camp for Little Bit with her friend to keep them fresh for the next school year.
  • Camping at Jellystone with Yogi Bear and big water slides. A definate must return in October during their haunted house days, even just for the afternoon would be good.
  • A day trip to Fayetteville, Texas and a visit around their square.
  • Baton camp for Little Bit. She liked it so much, she's planning to take lessons this Fall. And can I just say Little Bit can definately twirl.
  • Junior Lifeguard Camp for Big Kid. He wasn't sure about it before camp, but ended up loving it. But, really who wouldn't love swimming 2 hours a day, 3 days a week for 3 weeks. Plus, it came with a really cool t-shirt.
  • A week away at Mamaw & Papaw's house doing all sorts of cool stuff. From learning to cook homemade jelly from the beginning of picking the grapes themselves, to feeding baby lions it was full of adventure!!!
  • M & I got away to the Gulf, while the kids were away at Mamaw's & Papaw's. M did work, but we definatley got to play too. It was a wonderful, no stress type vacation. I came back very relaxed. Kinda like a second honeymoon. :)
  • A couple of times out on the boat and a few trips to the local pool. A visit or two to local entertainment stuff: Shankz glo in the dark mini-golf; Main Event bowling, arcade & laser tag ( i even played laser tag, and it was fun); almost every movie that came out, we saw this summer; visits to Market Street; a day at old town spring. All sorts of good things. :)
  • A weekend visit from Arkansas friends and their children that made for a wonderful time of fun.
  • A weekend in Vegas, seeing friends that have moved a couple years ago. Going to their 20 year anniversary party, complete with Elvis. Taking the kids to see the Beligo fountain & Ceasear's Palace was neat.

I'm sure we did more this summer, yet this is just off the top of my head. It was a great time. I hope everyone's summer went as well as ours did.
