Baby, it's cold outside...to quote a familiar tune. And we is talkin' cold...in the 40's here in the H-town vacinity. Can you believe that? And everyone is talkin' SNOW this Friday.
Now, let me clarify. Snow around here means 3 to 4 spits of the white stuff, lasting anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes. But, hey, I'll take it and play in it and try to catch the few flakes on my tounge and drag my children out in their pajamas to see it. Yes, i like snow. I say if it's going to be cold out, there might as well be snow.
This cold weather has gotten me into a hibernation phase. Ok, maybe it's not the cold weather. But, that is the "blame name" I'm going with today. Instead of finishing decorating the tree and winter wonderland, I instead went Christmas shopping and grocery shopping.
I also decided to cook supper tonight. What was that? The sucking in of the paper boy from his paper route out of the sheer shock of me cooking. I know. Amazing! Anywho, I made Stew for supper. (not my dad Stew, no the one with potatoes, carrots and steak. yum.) I also made Sister Shubert Rolls. The very best rolls in the frozen food section. And I boiled some eggs for this week. Cut up a bunch of fruit to have on hand for breakfast and such. Deboned 2 chickens, cut up carrots and celery for this soup luncheon I'm going to on Friday. I'm taking chicken noodle soup. Original, right?
AND I made chocolate cupcakes with white icing. I think I should make these more often, because all were excited and these were the comments I received:
M: "Who are these for? Us?!? Oh, wow!"
Big Kid: "You made CUPCAKES! Can WE have some?"
Little Bit: "Can I have a cupcake, too? I can have some extra icing, too! Oh, yes please!"
