2008 olympics in china

In Beijing you would see work being done everywhere in town in preparation for the 2008 Summer Olympic games. You could tell they were very excited to be hosting the event. They even spoke in the local news about creating laws to make it more pleasant while there. Some were interesting like, "no spitting." Who knows if they will have this law enacted, they just were talking about it in the newspaper. Well, here is one of the 5 mascots for the 2008 olympics. They are called "The Friendlies" I totally loved them and thought they were just too cute!!! They sold them in the airports and in the local tourist souvineer shops. I bought some key chains with them on them. They seem very "Friendly" just like all the people that I met in both Beijing and Dalian. In fact, I found the people to be friendly to each other as well, especially for being in such large cities.
