This morning my man M caught himself somethin'.
Yes. I know you're thinking to yourself right now, "an odd statement, perhaps I should delve in a little bit further." Perhaps, you should me thinks.
Little Bit: "EEEEEEeeee. He caught one, caught one."
Little Bit jumped up on one leg, as I was tying the shoe at the end of the other leg.
Little Bit: "EEEEEeeeee...Daddy! Daddy! You caught one!!! You caught one!"
She runs to the window and smears her face against the glass, creating a little fog near where her mouth touched it.
From upstairs:
M: "What!?! I caught one."
Big Kid: "He caught one? Wait, wait. I'm coming."
They start trumping down the stairs, jumping a few steps in their hurry.
Me: "Yes. You've caught the squirrel."
It all started a couple of days ago. M had gone on a business trip to Austin and then out to Sweetwater, Texas. He came home proud and excited about the trip out to the middle of the dry, windy land of Texas. He had been out looking at windmills. And I should have thought of this, when he came home and proudly announced he had brought us a gift. It was a rather long box, so I couldn't imagine what jewel might be in it. Of course in all of my imagination, I never once guessed what it was. Gently, proudly M opened up the box to show us all who were waiting in great anticipation, as to what it was. Ta-daaaaa! A live animal trap. "See kids, you set it up like this and put in the food and then SNAP! it's trapped." Everyone's eyes got real big. "Don't worry. It's a Live trap. It doesn't hurt them. We'll just see what we can catch and then look at it. Then we'll let it go."
So, this morning our first-live-trap-look-see animal was Bronson our pet squirrel. He's not really a pet. He just hangs out, eats Bark's dog food, and greets us in the morning when we're getting in our car. Well, Bronson was not too thrilled about being in this live trap. He wanted out in a major way.
I thought it would be best to look at Bronson from the window like I usually do. The kids bolted out the door behind M to get the best view. M, not wanting me to miss out on the closeness of the squirrel gone wild, brought Bronson in the cage for a closer look. Yep. He looks like a squirrel.
After about 5 more trips around the cage in less than 5 seconds, Bronson was taken back outside and set free. But, don't worry Bronson left us something to remember him by. A small pelet of poop in the kitchen. FANTASTIC. M took care of it. Then we all headed out the door to start our Monday.
How was the start of your week?

some days definitely are more interesting than others. Mine involved fighting with the elder daughter because it was picture day and she's a drama queen. I'd rather have a squirrel in the house!! haha
HAHAHAHAH This is funny! Sounds like a fun and exciting way to start the week. :) Love ya!
This is cute...
