- monday- catch up from the weekend.
- tuesday- chaperone on the 5th grade field trip to the Ball Can Corp. and picnic in the park. i got to drive my car and was almost late getting my car full of moms there on time, because i decided to stop at Starbucks. whoops.
- wednesday- dinner out with my husbands clients and friends from work to a very fancy & popular dinner spot downtown, by the Galleria. I was a few minutes late to this as well, not calculating traffic into my travel plans. I did have a GREAT time seeing everyone. i do have to say that going to bed at 1 a.m. and knowing that i have to get up at 6 a.m. causes me to not sleep. i should have just got up and done stuff. i think i had an hour sleep from 5 to 6. but, i was good the next day. you would have thought i had at least 4 hours sleep. ;)
- thursday- chaperone on the 3rd grade field trip to the Houston zoo. i was not late this time, yet i rode the bus with everyone else, thus not putting the time pattern element in my hands. because as we all know i live on cherie time.
- friday- coffee with friends at, let's say it all together now...Starbucks!!! Then over to a friends to look at her house. Then home. then a call from school, "your son has a soar throat and it looks like it might be something more and i would take him to the doctor if i was you," call from the school nurse. So, off to the doctor, to hear it's just a cold. Then Little Bit spends the night with the neighbor kid, which they have been trying to arrange for a month and were THRILLED to get to do. All seems right with the world, until 1:11. "mommmmmm, i don't feel good." And he was right, he wasn't feeling good. so, he stayed up half the night and i stayed up even later not being able to go back to sleep.
- Saturday- took it easy in the day and caught up around the house chores. That evening, we went to the drive-in and saw "Iron Man 2" Perfect to watch on the big movie screen under the stars, because the dialogue wasn't the important part on that movie. It was the action. Plus, the kids running around, throwing the football and swinging on the swings was fun before the movie started. And i have to say it was packed out. We were suprised at ALL the people. It was a good time and we got home around 11:30 and all in bed by midnight.
- Sunday- Mother's Day...sleep in day, you say? no. i woke up at 7:30. but, that's all good. everyone else could sleep. After a while, the kids woke up and found me in the gameroom watching the Sunday morning early show on CBS. i love that show. They sat in there and watched it with me. It was very sweet of them. And from my children, I received two of the best cards ever made, and a really fantastic poem that I will cherish always. Afterwards, i made a late breakfast. Then we just hung out around the house, and i caught up on laundry. That evening, M went to the grocery store, then came home and drug out the charcoal grill on the driveway. We invited everyone on our cul-de-sac over for dinner, most came on over and we had hamburgers, turkey burgers, and hotdogs for supper. It was good fun. And we wrapped it up, by 9 p.m. It was a good mother's day.
it was a great week. i had a great time on both field trips. I think my kids are the best ever and i love going places with them and doing things with them.
onto this week...
