Yes. Yes. It was a hot and sultry Saturday afternoon in Grapevine, Texas. People outside were sweltering in 105 degree heat. We were seeing mirages everywhere. Even when we went inside the aquatic utopia, it was steamy and warm. But, no it was no mirage that we were looking at. I shouted to M over the loud crashing manmade waves of the wave pool. “Look M. A bald eagle.” He looks up and says, “You are gonna have to take a picture of that and send it to Madame M (lake charles friend).” So, here it is…
Yes. We saw a man made bald eagle on our manmade water world tour.
We also saw many other things of interest…
A creepy little plastic boy. It was some night time bed time show for the kiddos. Yet, my children found it to be just plain creepy. So, I had them pose by the most creepy of the creepy characters, plastic stump boy. I think my children are scared from the time we took them to the wax hell and brimstone bible museum from the 70s that we toured as the last tour group and they turned the lights back on for us. I might still be scared from that, too. http://www.livingbiblemuseum.org/ their website doesn’t do it justice. This is the way we remember it… http://www.roadsideamerica.com/story/2187
OK. Back to this trip of fun and marvel…

The wolf would howl and water would pour out. ooohhhh.
Th
kids had their own bunk beds and tv. The paintings on the wall made it look like they were in a tent. Too cute. And they had their own tv, which they loved. Yet, still felt the need to dominate our tv, so we could watch disney’s suite life on deck on two tvs.

You could buy your child an overpriced wand, then spend your night going up a flight of stairs pointing the wand at a picture that would light up, then going down two flights of stairs and pointing the wand at a treasure box that would open, then back up a couple flights of stairs to point your wand at something else, then after collecting all these pointy at stuff points, you could go see this fairy on a tv and she would tell you to go see a tree and that tree would tell you to start all over, but with a whole different bunch of pictures, chests, statues, and such to point at and a whole ton of stairs to climb and descend. So, basically, you’re paying to get exercise for yourself, and wear out your children, if they weren’t tired enough from the whole water park. Oh, I didn’t mention the water park did I?

Well, in addition to the wave pool, they have a huge playground in the water with the dumping bucket and water sprayers and slides, a kiddie pool with tons of stuff (we didn’t get in it), a lazy river, a huge outdoor pool (with basketball hoops, a sitting area, lily pads to climb across, 2 big water slides), And indoor 5 HUGE water slides.
Yes. They rode all 5 of the slides numerous times. And so did I. J The outdoor slides seemed exciting at first, but then after going on the ones inside really I think we just forgot about outside. I squealed like a little girl over and over again. It was all super fun. And I totally recommend this for a fun adventure. Plus, it’s open year round.
OK. I know I’ve gone on far too long, but I just had to share. Now, I’ve moved on to getting Little Bit off to sleep over church camp for the week. And Big Kid has had a friend over all day long. And has a sleep over tonight at another friend’s house. Me, I’ve entered the receipts into the quicken, and have realized I have spent entirely too much money this month. Yet, somehow I have no regrets. Ha.
Sending you much love and hopes for cool lemonade mixed with a little vodka. ;0
