Well, last Friday the school cancelled all classes for a snow day. It turned out we just had a little ice, but the kids enjoyed the day off. I really laughed that we were out for "snow."
Well, low and behold, this wintery Wednesday, I actually saw a few flurries of snow. Of course, it lasted only about 5 minutes, but it was snow! There's a little ice on my car and the mailbox was frozen closed.
This morning started out a warm 46 degrees and by lunch it was down to 31 degrees, with the lady in the cafe across from the bookstore that I work professing that it was sleeting in Conroe, just 15 minutes north of where I live. Oh, the excitement and yet doubt. Doubt that was changed to belief when the doors were opened by a customer and the winter wind blew through the store.
So, now my milk and groceries are bought. I'm starting some corned beef and cabbage on the stove for supper. And my fingers are crossed that we will have some snow!
If that sun will just go on behind that cloud...
