my son likes math

I didn't realize how much my son liked math until last night, when he taught me a new game he made up. He looks at the digital clock and uses it for his game. He said I can use any operand to combine the two digits to the right (the minutes) to equal the hour digit(s).

This morning on the ride to school, we had good coversation. Mainly about the frost, the recent icycles and wintery weather we're having. But, on the end of the ride the coversation went like this.

Big Kid: "I'm ready for summer. I really like summer. I like swimming in the heat of summer."
Me: "Oh, yeah?"
Big Kid: "That and I like getting to sleep in, because we don't have school."
Me: "Uh, hmm."
Big Kid: "But I do like school.", as he's opening the door and getting out to go into the school building.
Me: "That's good. I'm glad. Have a great day."
